ANOTHER GREAT IFCR TOUR

It is my pleasure to extend an invitation for you to take part in the coming NZIFCR Cricket Tour to Beyond and Before Bundaberg from 3 October and to take part in the AuIFCR  Rotary Cricket Festival 12 Ð 16 October 2008.

Prior to the Festival we have arranged to fly to Cairns and to play three or four games in the week 4 Ð 11 October in that far flung part of Australia, wending our way southwards through exotic locations such as Innisfail, to Mission Beach and if time allows to Townsville, Airlie and Mackay.   Then on to Bundaberg to participate in the AuIFCR  Rotary Cricket Festival 12 Ð 16 October 2008. The final itinerary is still be settled with out Cairns Coordinator.

 Some Points to Consider

¤       Registrations to participate in the tour must be emailed or posted to me prior to Friday 5 August 2008.

¤       A deposit of $300.00 per person to be sent with each application.

¤       If you are keen to participate please send expressions of interest by no later than Friday 6 June

Travel Bookings

¤       We propose to book flights for all participants as it will be important for us to arrive in Cairns as a group.  To confirm the flight and other travel dates and times we must pay a deposit for each participant soon after final travel details are finalised; and the final payment will be due approximately 45 days prior to departure. 

Important - Tour Applications

¤       Current and intending New Zealand IFCR members are invited to apply. Wives/Partners are always an important part of any lFCR tour and are most welcome to be part of the tour and the Festival; as are any non-playing or umpire members and their partners. 

Tour Costs

¤       Details of the internal travel and accommodation costs are still to be notified, but we are budgeting to have paid most of our costs before arriving in Australia.  Costs will also include miscellaneous items such as name badges, team presentation items and suchlike as may be required in the convenor's discretion

¤       We negotiate group rates for our internal travel and tour.

¤       The AuIFCR  Rotary Cricket Festival Fee covers meals and accommodation and games.  The costs of Rotary visits, some local tours and special function catering are the responsibility of tour members.

¤       There will hopefully be some home hosting on the Cairns and South part of the trip.  In Bundaberg we may also be able to enjoy home hosting, but we have budgeted for Motel Accommodation.

¤       The Tour Sconce and left over budget will be donated to a worthy NZIFCR cause.

Flexibility

¤       We will need to be flexible about planning matters for the tour and be able to adapt to whatever our host organisers have planned for us, and any changes. Also, travel plans may be subject to amendment. 

 

Tour Dress

¤       We always aim for an appealing group presentation when attending IFCR formal functions on tour. For this tour and for the AuIFCR  Rotary Cricket Festival we will have our dress code of dark blue jacket and blue aertex logo shirt, with NZIFCR tie; and taupe slacks for the men.  For the women tour group members the blue aertex logo shirt, scarf, and appropriate skirt are mooted. 

Those players who do not have our team playing shirt and cap or floppy hat, and for those who you will need to acquire aertex shirts and tie/scarf, will need to complete the clothing form details.

AuIFCR Cricket Festival in Bundaberg

Games on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; with a Test Match between NZICR and AuIFCR under lights on the Wednesday.
