 RI FELLOWSHIPS & WORLD FESTIVALS

A fascinating piece of information came to light when I discovered that there are no fewer than 84 Fellowships registered with Rotary International.  Rotarians worldwide have organised themselves into these groups to be able to enjoy, in fellowship, a greater fulfilment of their particular interest.

Out of this experience has risen the opportunity to invite friends to join Rotary, creating a further opportunity for growth in membership

One such group is the International Fellowship of Cricketing Rotarians.  Not surprisingly, it was born through the enthusiasm and dedication of past RI Director Geoffrey Pike in the UK and past RI President Raja Saboo of India.  They organised matches first locally then Britain toured in India. This was the catalyst for numerous tours between the cricketing nations.

In an endeavour to unite and grow the fellowship, the first International Festival was staged in Fordingbridge UK  It was such a success that it was decided to hold a Festival every 3 years in various parts of the Rotary world.
