INVITATION TO TOURNZIFCR to 6th World Rotary Cricket FestivalDurban Sunday 7th - 13 March 2010Departing Friday 26 February for Prior Games
ANOTHER GREAT IFCR TOURIt is my pleasure to extend an invitation for you to participate in the NZIFCR Cricket Tour to the 6th World Rotary Cricket Festival taking place in Durban, South Africa in March 2010. NZIFCR proposes for participants to leave NZ on Friday 26 February 2010 and spend from then until 6 March 2010 playing three games we will try and arrange on the way to, or following arrival, in South Africa. There will also be the opportunity to participate in other trips such as a Safari Park visit and to play more cricket and undertake other trips. Such as joining in the Vintage Cricket Festival in Cape Town 21 – 27 March. The final itinerary will be settled once arrangements are in place for the pre-Festival games. Some Points to Consider Registrations to participate in the tour must be emailed or posted to me prior to Friday 2 October 2010. A deposit of $300.00 per person to be sent with each application. If you are keen to participate please send expressions of interest by no later than Friday 10 July. mailto:nzifcr@jdlo.co.nz?subject=NZIFCR to 6th WRCF Durban, South Africa 26 February-13 March 2010 As an alternative we need to ascertain if some members would like to only attend the 6th WRCF and not depart on 26 February, but fly direct on 6 March. Please let me know in the above email if that is what you would prefer. Travel Bookings We propose to book flights for all participants as it will be important for us to travel as a group. To confirm the flight and other travel dates and times we will need to pay a deposit for each participant soon after final travel details are finalised; and the final payment will be due approximately 45 days prior to departure. Important - Tour ApplicationsCurrent and intending New Zealand IFCR members are invited to apply. Wives/Partners are always an important part of any lFCR tour and are most welcome to be part of the tour and the Festival; as are any non-playing or umpire members and their partners. Tour CostsWe are budgeting to have paid most of our costs before arriving in South Africa. Costs will also include miscellaneous items such as name badges, team presentation items and suchlike as may be required in the convenor's discretion We negotiate group rates for our internal travel and tour. The 6th WRCF Fee covers meals and accommodation and games. The costs of Rotary visits, some local tours and special function catering will be the responsibility of tour members. We will most likely not enjoy home hosting on this trip, and have budgeted for Motel /Hotel Accommodation. The Tour Sconce and left over budget will be donated to a worthy NZIFCR cause. FlexibilityWe will need to be flexible about planning matters for the tour and be able to adapt to whatever our host organisers have planned for us, and any changes. Also, travel plans may be subject to amendment.
Tour DressWe always aim for an appealing group presentation when attending IFCR formal functions on tour. For this tour and for the 6th WRCF we will have our dress code of dark blue jacket and blue aertex logo shirt, with NZIFCR tie; and taupe slacks for the men. For the women tour group members the blue aertex logo shirt, scarf, and appropriate skirt are mooted. Those players who do not have our team playing shirt and cap or floppy hat, and for those who you will need to acquire aertex shirts and tie/scarf, will need to complete the clothing form details.
Regards
The Hon Sec
